When first word surfaced about a possible shift to a 3-4 under Coach Horton I instantly felt that Outside Linebacker would be our biggest weakness, given the importance of the position to the scheme. But upon further review I actually think we are sitting fairly comfortable at the position with players like Akeem Ayers, Karl Klugg, Derrick Morgan, Zavier Gooden and Zach Brown all likely to play significant snaps at the position. While Morgan could potentially struggle while adjust to an entirely new position in an entirely new scheme, I believe it allows Gooden, Brown and Ayers to use their outstanding speed and athleticism to make plays. However, I believe Klugg could surprise a lot of people if given a steady amount of snaps, whether at OLB or possibly at DE on passing downs. With this all being said I believe selecting LB Cj Mosely and pairing him with an outstanding veteran presence in Karlos Dansby would instantly upgrade our entire defensive unit into the top 8-10.
