    .334 career and one of the best first basemen under 25 this game has seen in a while. This is a smart extension because it's not paying him to be a player he isn't.

    He's third in the MLB behind Votto and Loney with a 25.2 LD% since 2011 through 2013 min 1500 PA

    This buys 5 free agency years and nearly all of the player's prime. Rizzo's extension only got the Cubs 1 free agency year.
