    Kyle Lowry Summer Destinations

With the way the Raptors have been playing post Rudy trade, it would seem detrimental for Masai to trade away Kyle Lowry whom is firmly our most consistent player, and as we approach NBA Trade deadline (February 20th) ......I would assume at least 90% of all Raptors fans would agree Toronto should keep Lowry to make a playoff push.

    FAST FORWARD

Let's say our post season is over, we made it past the first round and lost in the second (to whomever in the east). Lowry with his exceptional play this season, along with strong post season performance (let's say) now enters the free agency (July 1st)

    • Should command 9-15 million on the market

    POSSIBLE DESTINATIONS

TEAM ESTIMATED TOTAL CAP CAP SPACE
    Philadelphia 76ers 28,385,008/ 30,614,992
    Dallas Mavericks 31,2 50,100/ 27,749,900
    Phoenix Suns 31,258,800/ 27,741,200
    Utah Jazz 31,313,082/ 27,686,918
    Los Angeles Lakers 37,275,953/ 21,724,047
    Charlotte Bobcats 41,596,759/ 17,403,241
    Detroit Pistons 42,177,875/ 16,822,125
    Orlando Magic 45,095,929/ 13,904,071
    Atlanta Hawks 47,899,576/ 11,100,424
    Milwaukee Bucks 50,218,597/ 8,781,403
    Washington Wizards 50,707,779/ 8,292,221
    Cleveland Cavaliers 50,875,482/ 8,124,518
    Toronto Raptors 51,479,727/ 7,520,273
    San Antonio Spurs 52,394,820/ 6,605,180
    Boston Celtics 54,607,545/ 4,392,455
    New Orleans Pelicans 56,050,700/ 2,949,300

76ers strike me as a team that has a clear cut chance of snagging us of Lowry.
    • he is a local, and they are his boyhood team
    • they have massive cap space and can offer him the max if they deemed him necessary
    • 76ers can offer star minutes and being one of the main primary scorers. Allows them push MCW to sg. I do believe Turner, MCW, Lowry backcourt rotation can be successful along with 76er having extra cap to sign better front court players on the market.
    • It's guaranteed 76ers will make multiple major free agent signing most deffinitaly

Dallas and Lakers also strike me as teams that can use and have the ability to pry Lowry from us. These two teams thrive on being winning franchises (big players this summer w/o a doubt). I see Lowry as a Plan B type free agent, if they don't get Plan A.

Magics are one of those random surprise signings that happen ever so often (i'd imagine).

    CONCLUSION

As a fan it would be beautiful for us Raptors fans to see our team in the playoffs, perform well, and on top of that re-sign Lowry (best case scenario for Toronto). But in life nothing is guaranteed, and if I were in Lowry shoes, and 76ers made a strong proposal to me, it would be something I would have to take into great consideration even if it meant burning bridges in Toronto because their are so many benefits and the future looks great for the organization and strong economics and passion from the city.

Us Raptors fans are too accustomed to being burned and seeing our star players leave for nothing (no need to name, names). So as well as Lowry is playing for us, maybe perhaps it is in our best interest if Lowry get's traded (it be foolish not to sell your stock while it's at it's highest return value). No doubt Lowry will continue to improve his game, he's has too strong of a mentality to succeed, which makes him enticing to many teams, which gives Kyle Lowry many many option this upcoming summer.

Masai needs to stop being indecisive and be firm with his decision on moving Lowry for the best interest of the organization.......But hey Lowry could prove me and us all wrong and resign with the Raptors.

    A for Effort.

    MCW is a PG.
Philly is tanking for the next few years, never mind this one.
    Raps > Philly

Dallas has Jose, Magic suck and are tanking. Lakers could be that team to snag him but there would need to be another domino or two to fall for him to want to leave this situation.

Effort is good, conclusion is way off.

MCW will be their PG for years to come, turner can't wait to leave. Why does Lowry go home? They are a long way from winning .

That's not a conclusion!!! Haha. It's an essay.

I think Lakers will be a threat. I don't see Sixers going after him.

Lakers or Boston I could see making big runs at him.

Right on with the research. I would like to add something else that no one has pointed out to you as well. The NBA cap situation is a tricky business. Cap holds complicate things immensely.

The Lakers are the only real competition as far as I can tell. But they suck right now so it seems far fetched he would choose them.

The only team I can see that really wants Lowry doesn't have the cap space. That would be the NY Knicks.

I also disagree with the indecisiveness. I think the reason we haven't seen any movement is because he has set a clear price and no one has met that price since the Knicks offer.

and Bosh to the Heat to join Wade. That would've been awesome... I would've respected LeBron way more if he went there.
Why have great rivals when you can join them and have none.... Lebron James where losing the spirit of competition happens!

When we were losing, I was sure we would lose him. After all, why would he stay in a losing situation knowing the type of person he is? Now that we're winning, I don't think there's a team out there that has the ability to sign him, needs a starting PG and is in a similar winning situation.

Iv'e said it before, the pg position is the most saturated position in the league. none of those teams have a need for a pg to give lowry the type of contract he is looking for.

looking at that list the raptors have the biggest need for a pg and it might be a great time to re sign lowry because by the looks of it, he may just be **** out of luck. We could get him on a decent contract if no one else offers him anything lucrative.

I think ujiri knows this and is going to wait and see what lowry gets offered and then try to match if the contracts are worth it. thats one way to not over pay.

Only thing that can turn away Lowry from us is money (if we low ball him). He is perceived as one of the team leaders here and is the go to PG (no one waiting in the wings). The team is winning and what else does he want?
