The stats favor LeBron, the individual awards probably favor LeBron as well, the team awards favor Kobe, the overall accolades favor Kobe.

But it's hard to decide because it's not just what you posted that should be taken into legacy. You need to see how they faced against their counterparts at that time both individually and teamwise, you need to see their peaks, also their marketability and style of play, the popularity, how their peers regarded them moreso than how the media perceived them.

Another thing not taken into account here is how many finals losses each has, which is 2.

Then you have to take into account the big performances that these guys have put in the regular season, playoffs and finals, the game winners, the scoring sprees, how much they carried their teammates.

So a lot more to take into account in this argument that you didn't fully post.

Throw out the homer. Lebron's domination of stats, advanced stats, Mvps over Kobe greatly compensates for Kobe's 3 extra rings as the second option.

Kobe has longevity but lebron has the better peak and much better overall player.

That being said, these two if retired today are easily top 10 all time. They are def interchangeable, so can't go wrong.
    Both are beasts.

Lebron will never surpass Kobe, because Lebron will never get another ring.

Ring One: Came in a shortened season.

Ring Two: Bailed out by Ray Allen, after Bron Bron all but choking it away.

With a obviously more aged and less talented team that they have ever fielded in recent memory, please, explain to me how Lebron is going to win another ring with the Heat? Especially with a handful of teams obviously more talented than them this season. And when he leaves after this year? Sorry, he ain't getting another one, especially if he is dumb enough to stay in Miami.

Kobe as of RIGHT NOW. Lebron will surpass him in about 2 or 3 years unless Kobe comes back next season and has a storybook season.

If lbj can win another couple of titles and play at an.elite level.for another 5-7 years then he surpasses kobe. its not impossible but only way he has a chance is with another couple of titles.
