I wouldn't really put much stock into that. Next time Lakers win a championship, Mitch will just shout "**** YOU STERN HAHAHAHAHA!" That sort of thing.

LOL he doesnt want Stern to screw him in the "lottery" this year. Good job Mitch
What about Adam Silver?

I am honestly more scared of Adam Silver than Stern.
Guys really?!?!
First of all any executive with a respected position is going to speak well of someone of the days before they retire. No person with class would stand in front of a mic in the national media and say "He SUCKS!". What Mitch did was professional and what he should have done. Even Pau Gasol said nice things about Stern.
Mitch is an old school guy. He played NBA ball in 1976 when the average NBA salary was $130,000 a year, teams were selling for $50 Million Dollars, and the Finals were not even on live TV. Those days have DRAMATICALLY changed for the NBA, for Players and for the Lakers. Mitch makes more now in one year as an NBA executive than he did his entire NBA playing career combined.
To not recognize the globalization, marketing, expansion and popularity of the game over Stern's years is very short sighted. Did he screw the Lakers with the Paul deal? Absolutely.... BUT Stern also hitched his wagon to Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. He pushed and promoted the Celtics and Lakers and the Lakers have reaped significant benefit from his decisions.
Groveling worm.
Stern is retiring. He wont control the lottery anymore.Originally Posted by LAOwnsAll15:27898904

It's true that without Stern, the NBA is not what it is and that means the Lakers aren't what they are. Smart comment from Mitch. He doesn't have to feel that way privately...but it's a good businessman quote.
Also, the NBA needs the Lakers to be good. So Silver can kick off his tenure by giving LA a great draft pick.
