The Boston Bruins return home from a brief two-game road trip and begin a three-game homestand which kicks off with the Florida Panthers coming to the Garden. The Bruins have been relatively hot as of late as they currently hold a 3-game winning streak along with a 5-game point streak in which they have a 4-0-1 record. With some key injured players making their returns, Dougie Hamilton returned Saturday, and Chris Kelly expected to return tonight, this only bodes well for the Bruins.
While the Bruins have been recently hot in the W and points columns, the team has also been hot when it comes to lighting the lamp as they have scored 6 goals in consecutive games. While Tim Thomas will be in net tonight for the Panthers, they are a team who are very weak defensively so this is another opportunity for the Bruins to keep the red lamp going.
As January comes to a close and the Olympic break continues to quickly approach, the Bruins continue to solidify their spot atop the Atlantic Division and gain further cushion in the playoff picture.
