Cubs projected worst team in 2014 in the first round of projections.

First link is all of baseball's projected standings for 2014. The second link is the projections of the roster of 2014. Not surprised.

Don't feel bad scouting pony league players anymore.

Scott Geralds has a mean 63 mph something pitch. Think he has an issue with licorice sticks cause his mom says he complains of stomach aches during games.

After reading it, Cubs win total seems optimistic.

I have a problem with how they project guys like Rizzo and Castro. I think they will have better seasons than they're projected to have. I think one of the reasons Sveum was fired because of the disappointing seasons those two players had. Yes, the team defense and the poor game managing decisions Sveum made didn't help either.

Unfortunately for the Cubs, the Astros got the jump on rebuilding. They had cost controlled players like Bourn and Pence who they traded away months before the Cubs started rebuilding and they beat the Cubs to the worst record which gave them some nice draft picks.

I don't think they made out any better with their string of top picks than the Cubs did with 2, 6, and 9.

And they passed on Buxton to overslot later on McCullers or whatever his name is. Silly Stros.

yeah, this study doesn't really take player development into account.

I am willing to bet my left, nay, my balls, that the Cubs will not finish with the worst record.
