    Arod questions

Ok first thing first. If he is off our roster (which more than likely he is) will our payroll be some where close to 189? And is our payroll right now after we signed Tanaka with arod in it? Thanks for the help.

We are well over $189M. That is firmly in the rear view mirror at this point.

They were already flirting with 189 without A-Rod and now that Tanaka has signed it is officially dead.

~3M from his contract, bc they are paid for 183 days and he is only suspended for the 162 games.
3M signing bonus from 2007 that is due

He's still on the roster... Not the active roster, but still on the roster.. much like guys on the 60 day dl are still on the roster, just not the active or even the 40 man roster...

He will be on the roster until he retires, released or his contract expires..

He's on the suspended list at the moment... but still on the roster as he's still Yankee property

I'll be very curious to see what they do after his suspension is over, do they cut him and payoff the rest of his contract or do they keep him around. Right now he's still probably the best option at 3rd we have next yr. When he came back last yr even with all the distractions he was still one of our best players, who knows what a yr off will do to him but i gotta believe he'll still be a top 10-15 3rd baseman.. but is he going to be worth the trouble and circus surrounding him and will his teammates expect him back
