Michael Kay: The team has turned on Carmelo and are sick of his act

Michael Kay (on his radio show - ESPN) just reported that a source close to the situation said that the team has turned on Carmelo Anthony and that multiple players think he is the problem with the team. These players on the team think Melo and the iso offense is the reason the team is losing. They think that he is the one to go (be traded). One of the players is a close friend of Melo's. Kay thinks that all the players will deny it when asked, but their play speaks for itself.

They claim they cannot run an offense because Melo pounds the ball and is the center of attention. Woody and Melo are on the same page and that everything is run through Melo. This was the problem Melo had with the D'antoni/Lin situation when the offense ran through other players. Those two were banished.

    That's what Kay is saying....

Kay said it's a very reliable source in the Knicks organization. The reporters will ask pre-game, they will deny.

Players are wide open and they don't get the ball. It's plain to see. After a while they quit.

I still question whether or not thats Melo's fault when the backcourt can't run any offense.

And I don't think this was the problem with D'Antoni/Lin at all. Melo's problems with D'Antoni started way before Lin came on at the end, and they stemmed from a lot of the same issues you see now. D'antoni tried to make Melo a point forward and its not something he can do. The reason he tried to make Melo a point forward is because he didn't have a point guard to run his offense, just like the Knicks don't have one now.

The way to fix Melo is to get a PG to distribute the ball and take away 2 or 3 shots a game, not expecting Melo to all of a sudden become a distributor.

I have a feeling Melo gets 'hurt' and sits a game or two. Then we'll see how these other players like it.

I was going to make a thread about when the Knicks organization would turn their back on melo (meaning, when they decided to trade him).

I mean, they spin things. Look at jr's shot and how it was blamed on beno. Knicks do that. They create stories for people to hate on someone so it's easier to trade said player.

The real reason is that the defense sucks, we have horrible defensive players (amate, bargs, Felton), bad coaching, and simply HORRIBLE and pourous backcourt play.

But I was wondering when they'd start spinning bad media towards melo so it'd be easier to trade him.

Btw, the source is Woodson, trying to deflect from him and jr.

When melo is the ONLY one producing, I don't question him, but the rest of the teammates.
