    Berman's Mid-season Report Card

    http://nypost.com/2014/01/21/knicks-...n-report-card/

Carmelo Anthony: Needs to be a better late-game shot-maker and positive leader, but plays his butt off every night on both ends. Grade: B

Andrea Bargnani: Despite durability, he’s been inconsistent and fallen short of being Melo’s trusty sidekick and needs to be more confident from 3-point land. Grade: C-

Tyson Chandler: Has missed 34 games due to broken leg and bronchitis and hasn’t seemed same vibrant player since return with club 0-4 since. Grade: D+

Iman Shumpert: Still playing like a demon on defense but, except for the wondrous Texas Triangle trip, can’t find an offensive rhythm, hurting his trade value. Grade: D

Raymond Felton: Even the cocky PG has admitted he’s been playing like “crap.” Injury-prone and inconsistent, has made fans think about Linsanity. Grade: D

J.R. Smith: Karma was bad in missing first five games because of drug suspension. From threatening tweets to shoelace shenanigans, the team’s second-best player last season has been a mess on and off the court. Grade: F

Amar’e Stoudemire: Stayed healthy before last week’s ankle sprain. Kept ego in check even during his lofty run off the bench and has been nothing but a mensch. Grade: B-

Tim Hardaway Jr.: Rookie SG has been one of the bright spots, a nice draft pick at No. 24, with a dangerous 3-point shot and speedy on the fastbreak. But has defensive breakdowns. Grade: B

Beno Udrih: Runs team well but can no longer defend. Disappointed with his playing time when other PGs are healthy, he would like trade. Grade: D+

Pablo Prigioni: Healthy all last season, missed 16 games before Monday return. Had been solid before breaking toe. Grade: C+

Metta World Peace: Injury-prone and too much of a character for coach’s tastes, but could surprise. Grade: D

Kenyon Martin: As feared, his ankle can’t stay right for too long, but in his 30 games, he’s a defensive energizer. Grade: B

Toure’ Murry: Knicks believe he has a future as a versatile two-way combo guard so Udrih is expendable. Grade: C+

Jeremy Tyler: Good locker-room guy and has shown glimpses of scoring ability in his limited action since signing Jan. 1. Grade: Incomplete.

Cole Aldrich: Insurance big man can rebound but not much else as he doesn’t play with the pace they need. Grade: C+

Mike Woodson: Lost too many close games because of late-game offensive malfunctions and the rotations on his defensive system can be exposed. Grade: D+

Interesting yet very accurate...the only thing is i'd probably give udrih a C because even tho his D wasn't all that he racked up assists and led a putrid offense with felton to a team that won five straight...that has to count for something

Is someone going to tell Woodson that this is what they believe?

I think D+ for Chandler is a little harsh. Some guy breaking your leg gives you a poor grade?

He can't play defense for the other 3 guys on the court...specifically Bargnani. I'd give Bargnani no higher than a D+. He is utter garbage when Chandler is on the court.

I can't even fault or get mad at Bargnani....he is who he's always been...the guy has been inconsistent his whole career and magically we thought Woodson was gonna get the most out of him?? after 5 years in the league guys are pretty much set in their ways after 3 years you know if they are gonna be a star or not...

For the record this is year 3 for shumpert

    Shumpert should get an F

He gets some steals. Can't hit a simple 12 foot jump shot yet continues to fire up 3's for some reason. Has WAY to many games of 30+ mins with nothing to show for it.

The Chandler-Bargs grades are insane. Tyson's a good defender, even if he's not the prototypical rock-in-the-post big man. A broken leg and a nasty bout of bronchitis shouldn't detract from his grade.

As for Bargs, the guy is trash. He's absolutely lost on defense. Part of that blame goes to Woodson's idiotic switching, but the guy has no instincts.

What grade does our GM get? The guy must have some hidden videos of Dolan. Does he have a track record that warranted Dolan running off Grunfeld? Do we just have a roster full of guys that can't bring us back anything to brighten this organization's future or am I expecting too much from our GM?
