    Mel Tucker

Hi, Bears fan here - not here to cause problems in any fashion.

We have retained Mel Tucker as our DC, after having a historically bad defense this year. Now, our unit was decimated by injuries after a few weeks. We lost our captains, Tillman, Briggs, Melton - then we lost more starters and by the end of the year it was nearly impossible to accurately gauge Tucker's performance. But then again, injuries happen, and some teams seem to handle the transitions better than others. The Bears this year didn't handle them well at all. The drop-off was noticeable very early on. It could be a talent-level thing but it's also worth noting that it didn't seem like the young guys developed positively throughout the year. Tucker also seemed to zig a lot when the other team zagged and a lot of the explosive plays we allowed seemed to me to be a lot due to play-calling. Then people say that he wasn't allowed to play his defense because of the personnel in place, even though he is supposed to be well-versed in multiple schemes and that was his allure in the first place.

Not gonna keep going. You guys get the point. I'm wondering what you thought of Tucker while he was running your defense.

He did the best he could with the players we had. Good guy though couldn't say anything bad about him

Expect a better year next year

it was rather vanilla defense. I think he had 1 good coached game when we went press man on the ravens
