Best S in the 2013 Draft?

As a Jaguars fan i dont have much to be happy about , But i do think we have the best rookie S

I thought it was funny , One of the announcers in our last game was saying how Cyp is looking like he's gonna be a stud and aside from Vaccaro and Reid , he was the top saftey in the draft.

    Cyprien Stat Line- 104 Total Tackles , 87 Solo , 17 Assisted , 1 sack , 2 FF , 1 int , 6 pass Broken Up

    Vaccaro Stat Line- 79 Total , 62 solo , 17 assisted , 1 sack , 1 FF , 1 int , 6 Pass broken up

    Reid Stat line- 77 total , 62 solo , 15 assisted , 0 sacks , 0 FF , 4 ints , 11 pass broken up

I see a Slight argument for Reid

    Cyp missed 1 game

    Vaccaro missed 2

I dont really see how anyone can say Cyp didn't have the best year , And looks like the best to this point

    Thoughts???

Vaccaro has been the best by a very very slight margin imo

Reid has missed most of two games with co cussions as well. Tackles are the only thing Cyprien has on either of the other two and that's more a product of probably being on the field a lot more because of the Jags struggles on O. Reid and Vaccaro are pretty close, 1a and 1b take your pick.

I'd say it's a tossup between Cyprien and Reid.... my homerism tells me Reid, but my head tells me Cyprien. Both will be solid NFL players for some time.

FF are a very random thing and don't always equal a change of possession, give me the INTs and pass breakups when talking about DBs.

I also like a ball hawk

But i also like a saftey that rocks WR's over the middle or a S who can blast a RB

Ff IMO are absolutely underrated when talking defensive players, especially DBS. Yeah of course ints are better but ff is a skill that few players actually perfect, guys like Tillman, both Woodsons and Dawkins honed that skill and it's proven valuable time and time again.

Yeah but it's rare that anyone can perfect it, also going for the ball over a tackle downfield when your the last line of defense for a team can lead to TDs very easily. It's nice to have it happen, I just dont think its something you can count on.

Uh, gotta go with Reid. He'll be in the top 5 DROY ranking.

OP doesn't mention the 2 games he missed with concussion symptoms. Reid's been the stud in coverage this year, Cyp and Vacarro have been liabilities at times. The tackle stat doesn't account for much depending on the base defense and personnel. The 49ers front seven doesn't allow the opportunity for as many tackles with the secondary.

49ers are second to only Seattle in broken pass plays. Reid has made the transition from Goldson flawless. This pickup has made Balke and co look like geniuses moving up to 18 to grab this guy.

Outside of Cyp having the unique ability to be used in pass rush, Reid is the current most polished product and best "safety" among the three.

Slightly Reid. Too early to be sure, but I have been very impressed with him. Cyprien improved throughout the year.

Wait 2-3 years to see, but I'd be happy with any of the 3.
