healthy scratch for downie tonight - well deserved, he has been awful since the colorado game where he didn't score on a bunch of chances

mason, hartnell, mez, luke schenn, and to a lesser degree G and streit looking to get back on track after a fairly putrid game against tampa

Gus is good to go. Doubt he plays cause Mez has been much better lately. That toe drag he had last game was awesome. Barely missed his own rebound too.

anyone who doesn't think our defense is as slow as molasses isn't watching now ... coburn has that top flight speed when he gets going, but he is slow side to side and in his own end ...

    sigh

hartnell was pretty close to a goal before making a bad pass to allow for a change for nyr during the powerplay ... i guess have to take the good with the bad here ... hope he can pot one tonight to keep hot, and not fall back into his normal ebbs and flows

They're slow but they're not going to be getting much faster unless they're willing to pay a hefty price, sadly.

stick with it for the 2nd period ...

alain vigneault's interview said, "we wanted to apply a lot of pressure to their D and cause turnovers ... [that was the game plan]'"

and those are the teams that beat us consistently

we are getting destroyed ... unbelievable ...

We'll....on the positive side, we did respond well in the second half of the first and we are on pace for 50+ shots. Lundqvist can't stop all of them. Emery needs to step up, our defense needs to actually make quality outlet passes and our forwards need to keep getting the puck to the net.

Also...kill off the 2 man advantage with which the Rangers will start the second period. That would be helpful...
