Bucks coach Larry Drew is concerned about the downturn in Khris Middleton's play since he went to the bench four games ago.

And Drew said he may return the second-year player to the Bucks starting lineup soon, although not Friday night against the Chicago Bulls.

"Right now I think Khris is the guy who has suffered the most," Drew said. "He was in a real good rhythm as a starter. I'm giving it some thought about getting him back in there in the starting lineup.

"O.J. (Mayo) has been a starter; he's come off the bench. He has shown he can adapt to either role.

"He (Middleton) just has not done well with the change."

When Drew inserted Luke Ridnour into the starting group before the game in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Dec. 31, rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo moved to small forward. Middleton went to the bench despite scoring 23 points in 41 minutes in the previous game, a home loss to Minnesota.

Since going to the bench, Middleton has scored in double figures just once, getting 10 points against Golden State on Tuesday. He has hit 10 of 25 shots in the four games for a 40% mark.

"I sat down with him right after we got off the road trip, after the Phoenix game," Drew said. "I told him not to get discouraged about it. I just wanted to give it (this lineup) a little longer look. If things don't pan out, I'll make a decision."

Drew said Middleton and Antetokounmpo had developed a chemistry in the starting lineup, with Middleton at the 3 spot and Antetokounmpo at the 2.

"I really liked the size," Drew said.

"With Luke in the lineup it gives us another ball handler, another guy that can keep us organized. Not saying Brandon (Knight) can't. When you've got two guys out there able to do it, it enhances what you can do offensively.

"I want to take a look at it but I may be changing it again shortly."

Ersan Ilyasova was ruled ready to play against Chicago despite a sore right hand that forced him to miss Thursday's practice. And forward-center John Henson, who practiced Thursday, was ruled out.

Henson is missing his sixth consecutive game due to a high left ankle sprain. But Drew said Henson will travel on the Bucks' two-game trip to Oklahoma and Toronto and will be re-evaluated before Saturday's game against the Thunder.

"He actually had two good days," Drew said. "I thought he moved pretty well in yesterday's practice and the shootaround this morning. The decision was made to hold him out just one more day and we'll see how he is tomorrow."

Henson's absence means Miroslav Raduljica could see some playing time against the Bulls. And Drew said Larry Sanders might play some at the power forward spot in addition to center.

"It won't be a real big adjustment from a defensive standpoint," Drew said of Sanders at the 4 spot. "If by chance he and Miroslav are out there together, there's a chance Miroslav will run the 4 (on offense) and Larry will run the 5.

"Miroslav is a little more familiar with everything we're doing. Larry was out those two months (with a torn ligament in his thumb)."

The Bulls will have former Washington Wizards guard Cartier Martin, who signed a 10-day contract Friday and will be available, according to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau.

"He can play multiple positions and he's shown that he can shoot the three," Thibodeau said. "He's been in the league, so if we do play him it would be in a very limited package and it would be out of necessity today. We'll get him acclimated."

I don't like the whole two pg line ups. I knew it mess with chemistry and Middleton got effected the most out of it. Sparky hated the line up changes as well. I posted the video of sparky ranting in the free agent thread. Having two pg's in the line up. Then coach Drew don't seem to favor Wolters any more. So then he uses SG Neal as a pg and turns the ball over a lot then.

Rather just see Ridnour go back to the bench and let Middleton start in the line up. Also figure we don't have Henson yet back. Yeah we could be show casing Ridnour and Neal and possibly Ersan. But don't jack with our young guys minutes either that are our futures core. I wouldn't mind trying Middleton at sg in tiny spurts see if that works. Also with Henson out why not some small ball line ups when Sanders having stinker games?

Not say cut him off completely with no minutes. But once he goes to bench move Ersan to center and Middleton to pf or something like that and have Knight at sg then. Would prefer that Hammond would hurry up and trade some of these vets any way that are getting in the way of the youth movement any way. Its like there's probably like 5 teams needing a veteran back up pg. Why not unload Ridnour now so Wolters gets more serious action?

Also with Drew liking two ball handlers? Why not start Wolters at pg and Knight at sg? Neal seems like odd man out in trade within the month. If not Wolters starting then have Giannis play point forward at sf bring the ball out more? Also if Henson is our future core pieces going forward at pf. Why not unload Udoh or Ersan like right now? That way Middleton can get more back up pf minutes as well then.

Hammond should get on the horn now for trade inquiries. Other teams not waiting. There's been a few trades the past few weeks. Heck Nets, Lakers, Knicks been chasing after Lowry for a while now but Raptors wanting a first killed off all those trade talks. Heck flip Ridnour to either of them or to two new teams needing back up pgs like Warriors or Kings. They both been linked to Hinrich or Miller. Bulls are having a fire sale wanting to get in on the tank. Now seems like the Pelicans might wanna tank cause then they keep their own pick cause its top ten protected and they lost Anderson and Holiday and shopping Gordon now.

Don't wanna see Hammond tying up the phone lines last minute. Like last year trade deadline where we got held up at the alter missing out cause a team backs off at last seconds. We should of already unloaded Neal and Ridnour and working the phones to trade udoh and Ersan as well.

I just think that this Ridnour/Knight lineup is for showcasing purposes. It's a terrible lineup. But the lineup with Middleton and Giannis was decent.

We need to hurry up and trade Ridnour. Over on the Warriors forum they suggest Ridnour after Miller.

    Luke Ridnour $4,420,000

Warriors don't have much for salaries wise to match close to Ridnours deal. Speights is the closes. They only have 14 players on roster. So they could take more players back in a bigger deal. Possibly would need a third team as well cause I don't see us as good trading partners.

Joe talking with Woelfel on the postgame show. Talk about Sanders getting ejected and three T's in 3 games. Rodman never pulled that off. Joe mentions if we move Sanders at the trade deadline then we can draft Embiid. Woelfel said Giannis,Henson,Embiid are string beans though. No brute force in the paint. Also Joe didn't like the made up rumor of Sanders and Mayo for Eric Gordon.

Adams baited him first with the mild shove to Sanders gut. Then Sanders counter with the light slap to Adams face then elbows occurred after. Announcers already said Adams already had 3 players ejected and fined from league. Adams is a punk and baits people.

Punk or not larry should have kept his cool n not acted like an immature little *****! I understand this season is over and we really are underachieving this season even with our injuries, but theres no reason to get thrown out of games wheb your supposed to be the face of the franchise!

I hope henson is back soon so we can see what he and sanders can do together and if its not a good fit than we should really look to trade sanders even if we dont get much back! Ive been on the sanders train since we drafted him but there is just no need for his attitude and antics. I almost think ersan/henson 4/5 would be better than henson or ilyasova/ sanders 4/5 combo anyways

You guys need to get a clue and get of Sanders' nut sack.

That was such a ****ing joke of a call. If that was really an illegal move by Sanders then Duncan should be ejected every ****ing game because he does that every game. Same with 90% of players. These refs are getting beyond ridiculous.

Not to mention Adams shoved him from behind. Call the real foul and then it wouldn't escalate.

We need to trade Ersan now. WTF do we need a stretch 4 for anyways? Especially one who has zero interest in rebounding or playing defense.

N where the ones in his nut sack? When u throw an elbow at someones head there's no reason to not kick him out if the game! The first little scuffle fine but lay didn't have to throw the last elbow at his head! Take your ****ing homer shades off!
