She appears to have won the power struggle for control of most of the Dolphins football operations with the "mutual" decision for Ireland to leave. How comfortable is everyone with her power in the organization? Would a potential GM/OC hesitate to take the job based upon the understanding that she appears to have final say within the organization?
There's nothing wrong with aponte, shes been great at her job, has done it for a long time, as a woman working her way up from a intern through the NFL ranks, that's not easy to do especially for a woman, she clearly is talented.
people in the media trying to make her into something shes not, which is some sort of deamon holding the franchise back. Basically the new version of Ireland.
Sugar Ray Leonard whooping on Floyd Mayweather Sr.
One second reports say this is a highly coveted job and the next it says the power structure is a nightmare and potential candidates should be wary. Is there some kind of vendetta against the Dolphins in the media? It's as if the Patriots aren't the golden child in the AFC East and making news they have to tear everyone down. Very similar to "bully-gate."
Its a huge issue right now is finding a GM. A guy looking for a GM is going to want full control over the team meaning players and a HC. Right now it seems Ross is telling people the GM will have the say over the players but still left out where Aponte will be in this.
Saw some tweets earlier about two different NFL exs talking about her. One said that she is a huge problem and he would not work around it. The other said she is a great football mind and an assist to the team.
In where we are now it seems where going to get a somewhat new face as GM, doesn't sound like the more established guys are going to come.
Forcing the HC onto the new GM is the biggest issue really more so than Aponte. Ross stated in his presser that he wants someone that can work with him. Its the same thing he said about the HC search last year about Ireland and its *** backwards.
It seems as if the media is trying to paint her as a gossip (telling philbin everything Ireland said about him) and a control freak (feeding Philbin lines for press conferences) Hard to tell how much of this stuff is true and how much is filler for story-starved sportswriters.
After Ross's statement today saying that the new GM will only report to him and not Aponte like some thought he would, I'm ok with it. She somehow has us under the cap with a respectable amount to spend even with all those contracts last year
