Gamethread: Miami (27-8) @ Knicks (12-22) - JR unties Shane's shoes, Foul is called

    Knick Updates

The Knicks have begun exploring J.R. Smith trade options, according to ESPNís Marc Stein.
Smith has been causing more headlines for his boneheaded mistakes than he has for his game lately, so it makes sense that the Knicks would attempt to rid themselves. He was fined $50,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for "recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct" after another shoelace incident on Tuesday night. Coach Mike Woodson called Smithís behavior "unacceptable." The Knicks canít trade Smith until January 15 because of the nature of his contract but theyíre clearly looking to have something in place. The fantasy value of Iman Shumpert and Tim Hardaway Jr. would increase if Smith is traded out of New York.
Metta World Peace had platelet rich plasma therapy on both knees Monday and he expects to be out two weeks.
"I did both knees because I didn't want to be off-balance and I knew it was going to help me a little bit," said World Peace, whose left knee has given him the most trouble. Even when he does return toward the end of January, there's no reason to think MWP will earn more than the 15 minutes per game he's averaged thus far.

I believe the Knicks will hold their own against Miami. Not confident about a W, but I would like to see good hard play.

If we can win this game than it would be an amazing confidence booster.
And may be able keep the streak going and being the team together on a positive leval.
I pray that we can click on all cylinders and take care of the heat.
    Lets go knicks !

lmfao, Metta on his PRP procedure:

"I did both knees because I didn't want to be off-balance"

    ****ing love that guy.
The value of elite scoring ability, by Phil Jackson:

"This is a guy, we recognize his talent, and his skill is the kind of skill and talent that gets you through playoff games where things get sticky, grind-out, and basketball becomes a force game and suddenly you need to have a player who has the capabilities of scoring with someone hanging on them in a situation thatís critical. Heís one of those players, one of the few players who can do that.Ē
