If you were going to rebuild a team, name the order of importance ...

In what order do you build a team ? I think we can all agree the having a franchise QB is the most important item on the checklist, but then what?

    1. QB
    2. Offensive Line ?
    3. Defensive Line ?
    4. Wide Receivers ?
    5. Linebackers ?
    6. Secondary ?
    7. Tight End ?
    8. Running Back ?
    9. Kicker ?
    10.Punter ?

Also, why do you feel it is so difficult for perennial losers to get back on track ? Do you prefer building through the draft and complimenting with Free Agency or Signing big time Free Agents and complimenting with you draft picks ?

Really this is a two part question. But I like it.

Ok building from scratch my order of importance is:
    1) QB, proven you can't with without a good one.
    2) LT, protect your investment
    3) DE/OLB, Gotta get to the QB
    4) DE/OLB, Make sure you get there
    5) C/G, Solid center of Line
    6) WR, passing league. You need someone to throw to
    7) S, good ones can dictate where the ball goes
    8) MLB, QB of the D
    9) RT, Line is important
    10) DT, Anchor the line. Stop the run
    11) TE. More ball passing and protection
    12) CB Stop the Pass
    13) CB Stop the pass
    14) WR
Trickle down from there to fill out the roster.

I think the problem for perennial losers is they try to be better faster than they should. They draft a kid at a position, and if he isn't a star in year one they over sign a FA to take that spot. Really they should be drafting to build and use key FA signings to bolster that draft. Then you have someone for the young guys to learn from and young guys to compete for the long term.

    1. Coach/Coordinators of quality
    2. OL
    3. QB
    4. DL/OLB whoever is the group rushing the most
    5. WR
    6. CB

The rest is a toss up, but that first 6 lays the foundation for the rest.

If I was the GM of a fantasy draft, my goal would be to draft in this order:

    1. QB
    2. OL
    3. OL
    4. Pass-Catching TE
    5. Versatile MLB
    6. S
    7. Pass-rushing DE
    8. OL
    9. OL
    10. Cover CB

    Something along those lines.

Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Colin Kaepernick walk into a bar... To watch Russell Wilson win the Super Bowl.

Is this Rick Speilman of the Vikes because this is pretty much what he has followed. Unfortunately we can scratch the QB part and try again, lol.

    Adopt-A-Viking: Harrison Smith
    Tackles: 23, INTs: 2, Sacks: 0

    DT
    Rush DE/OLB

    Safety/nickel corner

If I have to do it via draft, it'll be something like this:

    1. Coaches
    2. Defensive line
    3. Offensive line
    4. Secondary
    5. Quarterback
    6. Wide Receivers
    7. Linebackers
    8. Running backs
    9. Tight ends
    10. Kicker
    11. Punter

P.S: Not a big fan of running quarterbacks.

You got LT kinda far down the list IMO. Should be switched with C. There's a reason on most teams LT is the second highest paid guy, behind usually the QB.

There's a reason good teams don't overpay LTs. Centers are more important, IMO, for what I'd want to do. Most of the great o-lines are run by centers, and the compensation for great centers has been picking up in recent years. Protecting the "blind side" is an overrated mantra that really only applies to QBs without any pocket awareness. If I'm taking a QB #1 I've got to hope he has some pocket awareness.
