    Cardinals claim Rafael Ortega

This was yesterday, but I figured it was worth pointing out.

Ortega is very fast, and has surprising power, strength, and an arm for his size.

He came up with the Rockies, but ran into injuries last year, and the Rockies tried to pass him through waivers, which the Rangers claimed him in late November, and then they had to make room for some of their signings....so they passed him through and we claimed him.

I can see the team trying to keep him on the 40 man (Rondon, Butler and others are more likely to be passed through before this kid I believe).

    But the issue

    Our MLB outfield is ready.

    LF - Holliday
    CF - Bourjos/Jay
    RF - Craig

And we'll probably carry one of Robinson or Chambers as well.

    AAA
    LF - O'Neill
    CF - Taveras
    RF - Piscotty
w James Ramsey as the 4th probably, along with the other of Chambers and Robinson and as well, Butler will be there too.

    AA
    With a mixture of
    Pham, Longmire, Garcia, Valera, Tilson

I love the acquisition, but where is he going to play? They want all of these players to get a lot of innings this year, and even if there are a lot of injuries, there are more guys that are ready to step in and play

But I hope his skill set can graduate to the big leagues with us.

His skillset could maybe be moved to a shortstop though.

Never heard of the guy, but glad Cardinals are still making moves. Lets hope for the best!
