Simple question that has been discussed numerous times,
Is it time to change the NFL seeding format ?
Are you content with the way it is ?
This year, the AFC would not be affected, but it would have a large impact on the NFC. If they changed the format to seed strictly by record, it would look like this ...
3. San Francisco
4. New Orleans
6. Green Bay
The actual wild card matchups would not be affected, however it would change who has home field advantage.
This has been discussed quite a bit in the past and obviously nothing has been done about it.
Does it fall under the guidelines of "If it ain't broke don't fit it" ?
Is it something the NFL needs to revise immediately ?
I honestly don't lean one way or another on this topic. On one hand it only seems fair to reward the team with the better record, but on the other hand it seems like this format is self leveling as the years progress.
