2014 Chicago Bears Pre-Draft Offseason Thread

I don't even want to think about the season and what could have been, so let's think about the future.

Use this thread to talk about changes that can/should happen, news that comes out about player changes, and all of that jazz.

    Draft: 14th pick
Free Agency: ~$38M in cap space

Most obvious of decisions (and one I just came to):

    Fire Mel Tucker.

Blitzing on 4th and 6 with the ****ing season on the line AND bringing Conte up in man coverage on Randall Cobb is all kinds of ****ing stupid. It's inexcusable, and if that's what we're going to get in pressure situations, I'm ready to see him go.

2014 Chicago Bears Pre-Draft Offseason Thread

So if Toovs is correct, we have the 14th pick. Nix!

    Offseason; Draft & FA discussion

We're going to have the 14th pick & around $47M in cap space.

If either of these are wrong, just mention it in the thread & I'll update this.

    Decamilas should go before Tucker.

Tuck will stay bc of injuries etc and to show some sort of loyalty in regards to that.

Didn't see this thread, so I'll merge it with the one I made.

If anyone has the right numbers for cap space (pretty sure GB said it was something like $47M after the Gould extension, or maybe that was before?), then I'll add that along with our draft pick (14) to the first post.

DeCamilis needs to go, yeah. He's been BRUTAL with special teams this year.

I can't believe I'm advocating dumping most of the coaching staff this offseason

I wouldn't mind seeing what Tucker can do with better players next year but I won't complain if he's canned either.

obviously we are going to have a very busy off-season. It will be interesting to see how Emery will fix this defense up.

If we get the 14th, we should be able to get an impact player.

This team is way more talented than its record showed. Maybe an earlier pick (if it really is #14) will allow us to get someone like Nix or Clowney if he were to fall to us.

I'm sure I'll come back to this when I'm thinking a bit more rationally, but **** me sideways was that blitz call stupid.
