I gave Talbot some love in December but this is the Lundqvist we need back in 2014. Tough schedule in the month of January with plenty of divisional games and some big games against Western Conference teams. Need to gain some momentum.

In February, I'll do IGTs with there only being 4 games on the schedule.

Oh yeah Happy New Year everyone and LGR .

We have 6 games this month versus teams we will be battling against for a playoff spot. I'd say it could be the most important month of the season for the Rangers, as those 6 games are all "4 point" swing games. It may also dictate how we exit the trade deadline in February; will we be buyers, sellers, looking for a rental?

What an opportune time for Hank to hopefully find his game.

This is a huge stretch for this team. They really need to take advantage of stretches like this when they are basically playing teams they are neck and neck with in consecutive games.

That is a really good point. I think if we can win 4 out of 6 games we should be in good shape. Some trades I would consider regardless of playoff seating because some guys will not be here next season and do not have a huge effect on the team.

Yeah Red was right. I did not realize how this month would break down. We need wins in these head to head games. Hopefully at least 8 points out of those 12 possible points. I do not think we will have many guys in the Olympics so hopefully the rest of our guys will stay sharp and healthy during the break.

I don't see us being "sellers" no matter what happens. I'd bet any deal that helps us in the future, and fits AV's style will happen regardless. With a lot of changes coming in the offseason regardless of the outcome of this season, I don't think anything will be off-limits. Other than McDonagh getting dealt, nothing would shock me. Would be mildly surprised if we don't make at least one deal for an offensive player..
