wow that's terrible, he's a huge part of our D. I wonder if that means we'd take a run at a solid d man via trade or stick with the ones we have. It does offer a little cap room in case we need to make a trade but i'd love to have him back. I wonder if this type of injury is
one that could heal in enough time to let him make it back in the event of an extended playoff run. ?
This is a huge blow for the Bruins and this certainly creates alot of questions. Will the Bruins just tap into their depth or will they make a run at a veteran D who can fill in for Seidenberg? Luckily the trade deadline is still a bit away so the Bruins can probably afford to really stick with their depth for now and see how that goes.
Yeah I'd get those phones started up now. He's too huge for this defense, not easily replaceable. Certainly not easy from the outside, but pretty much impossible to replace him internally.
Huge loss....when are the injuries going to stop?
Hamilton, Boychuk and McQuaid are going to have to step up big time now....and they all still need to get healthy first.
Read a few weeks ago that Jack Johnson might be available. If the B's put Seids on LTIR then it would bring the available cap up to around $5.5 million for year. Depending on what we send for Johnson he could easily fit under the cap. Then if the cap does go up to the expected $71 million next season we're fine.
The biggest question is what would it take to get Johnson?
Jack Johnson is the opposite of Seids. I'm all set with any defenseman who is one of the worst positionally sound defenseman in the NHL. Girardi? Maybe... Depending on cost he's a huge asset, #1 guy. I feel he'll cost too much though. Ladislav Smid would've been a great pick up earlier this year... I wonder if Calgary would be open to flipping him after a couple months? Or Giordano would be great.
lol, small kid got tripped by a tuba player
Its looking like the Marchand/Kelly/2nd package is going to be something to look at come trade deadline. That could get us a solid Dman. Nobody can replace Seids on this team but were going to have to bring in somebody. I think we can sacrifice Marchand and Kelly. Our young forwards have really impressed me thus far, even with a few of them only playing a few games. We have depth there. We were going to be forced to move a forward at some point anyways. Might as well do it now so we can fill some holes and have an even stronger defense when we're actually healthy. Evander Kane is probably out of the question now. Lots of talk by fans about Yandle. Should be an interesting trade deadline again. Hopefully Chiarelli is more aggressive this time and can bring in a few guys to being us a cup.

Are we going to have anyone left by the end of the season?
We're gonna have to look for a top 4 shutdown left-shot defensemen who can log a ton of minutes. Someone reliable.
Someone mentioned Girardi, and he'd be a great add. Who else would be available? or potentially.

I think Dan Girardi from the Rangers is our best option at this point. My guess is it would take a 2nd rounder + 8-12 Prospect and if were lucky they take Caron from us lol (just kidding)
I'd look at rentals first and foremost, guys like Tom Gilbert or Ron Hainsey could probably be had for cheap. The real get would be Girardi. Upcoming UFA, has fallen out of favor in NYR, and the perfect replacement for Seids. If I'm Chia, I push hard for Girardi.
Also it was tweeted out today (forget by whom) but Don Sweeney was at the Adirondack/Albany game tonight, so there might be some scouting going on there. Maybe a deal built around Salvador (NJ) or Meszaros (PHI) but I'm not too keen on either of them.
