    David Wilson Status Thread

The updates are really slow moving, but his status seems to change every time. It's really sad that this kid might never get to play again. His returns are incredible.

There are "some people" who think David Wilson should never play football again. Wilson has a herniated disc in his neck & spinal stenosis. He's determined to get back on the field, but finding a doctor to clear him could be another story. Wilson is going to have to be patient, let his neck heal with time and then start thinking about football again. - from NY Dailynews

*He's determined to get back on the field,
Yeah....but to play football or do back flips...that's the million dollar question. Wonder what bothers him the most? It's alright for HS football but when you get in College and you get bigger and muscular....it's a very strenuous maneuver to perform. But did it ever dawn on him that if you run for 200 yards in a game(unfortunately that never happened) and score 4 TD's that 4 back flips could be harmful to your body?

Why wasn't he being advised on this issue...as a fan I had a problem with it.

I think it's safe to say 2nd or 3rd round were drafting a RB. Wilson is better off retiring!

I don't think it caused it but I think he aggravated it when he did that double back flip in the Philly game. He hurt himself there....the bulging disk herniated right then and there.

No shot. He played an entire drive after that and the first play on the next drive. His 2nd to last play was a 3rd and long diving catch attempt where he landed on his shoulder and looked like he was slow getting up. His last play was that run where he spun out of a tackle in the endzone and should've been called a safety and his whole head and torso snapped into the ground.

I feel bad for Wilson. If his career is over, he doesn't deserve to be called a Bust. I'd rather mention him as a one-year wonder" more than anything, had so much potential, It will be heartbreaking if he doesn't get to play another down in the NFL. My prayers and thought are with him, wish him a full recovery ASAP....

I feel bad for US....he was a freakin first round pick.

We should've selected Alshon Jeffrey....dude turned out to be a stud...then Nicks could walk.

Hindsight is 20/20. No one knew Wilson had this neck issue.

RB was a higher priority in the draft then WR was in 2012.

We have to change our way of thinking in the draft. We've missed the playoffs 3 out of 4 years...we need good players all around the board and we need to focus on the BEST player available.

For example...Eddie Lacy would've been a GREAT first round pick last year...we got to do better in the draft

Justin Pugh was a GREAT first round pick last year.

I'm really happy with Pugh, too.

The best team we've had in the Coughlin era was in 2007, where our OL and DL were prob both best in the NFL. We have been sliding since. 2011 was a just a great run by our aging vets.

If we can keep building on that OL BIG TIME, we know that we have a QB, coach, and others who can get it done. Our biggest prob is trying to fix the defense in the same year as the offense.

With Eli playing so bad and being paid so much...in a QB-driven league...I think we DEFINITELY must start with the O by getting some more studs on that OL [via draft and FA], and maybe a lil Jones-Drew to run behind it.

A big offense that can control the clock may just fix our defense, too!
    Twoz for Cruz!!

We should continue to build the O-line through the draft.

I hope we use another early pick on the O-line.

    We chose Duda
