The Raiders have named Terrelle Pryor their starting quarterback for Week 17.
Pryor hasn't started a game since Week 10, but the Raiders want to get one more look at him heading into the offseason. Undrafted rookie Matt McGloin has been highly mediocre in Pryor's absence, though coach Dennis Allen considers McGloin "part of the organization going forward." Pryor started off with a bang this season, but regressed sharply, particularly after a knee injury limited his mobility. He'll be an intriguing daily-league option against a Broncos defense once again adjusting to life without Von Miller
believing what you believe in. sticking up for your rights and sticking up for the rights of others from time to time. do it your way. don't let the culture tell you what to do. that's being a Raider. -Al Davis
I'm assuming they are attempting to show case him to entice other teams for a trade.
Pryor's stats next Sunday: 11-30 for 110 yards, 1 touchdown 3 interceptions. 11 rushes for 30 yards. Sacked 6 times for -113 yards.
I hope it's genuinely for further evaluation or attempt to increase value and not a case of Davis asserting his power due to some personal preference. I have no basis for that fear. It's just a thought believing he commanded Pryor's start in the finale last season according to Corkran.
Pryor is expendable, and McGloin is the starter for next season. Make sense to sit McGloin for this game as we have no chance for the playoffs. And, we have a better chance of losing with Pryor which will give us a better draft pick.
No team will give more than a 7th round pick for Pryor (IMO) so i'm not siding with the "showcase" theory.
Just Win Baby
Not a bad scenario for Pryor, Denver will score quick to get manning out of there and sit as many folks as possible, but he'll still show why he is not a starter in the NFL.
Pryor is not the future but I look forward to him helping us solidify this top 5 draft pick.

I'm not sure if I like this decision. McGloin needs as much playing time as possible . The coaching staff wants to further evaluate Pryor , on Sunday?
Hmmm , Dennis Allen is a bit cooky . (Is that a word? Lol).
Is this a last ditch effort frm Allen to keep his job? Personally I hope Pryor plays his butt off and makes him look bad!
Nice, I've been hoping for this the last few games. I was hyped for Pryor when the year started but lost faith in him as a QB quickly. I'd like to see both of our young QB's do well, and possibly both be on the team next year., but ideally, you want one guy, who everyone knows is "the guy".
Good luck on Sunday, Pryor.
I'd be surprised if the decision is in any way related to DA trying to "keep" his job. It sounds more like DA wants to give Pryor more time under center to evaluate him going forward. At least Vonn Miller is out for the game. Let's see if Pryor learned anything over the last few weeks.
