Choo signs with Rangers 7yrs/130 million

choo's deal with rangers is agreed to, as stated. 7 years. here's the story. http://cbsprt.co/19EF6g0
    -Heyman

Edit: Heyman says 130 M for 7 years, Passan adds limited no trade and no options. He ends up getting less than the Yankees offered him.

That lineup is going to be very dangerous next year.

Oh **** they have a squad now.

    SS-Andrus
    LF-Choo
    3B-Beltre
    1B-Fielder
    RF-Rios
    DH-Moreland
    2B-Profar
    C-Soto
    CF-Martin

They also have Choice, and if Profar breaks out it's over.

Choo batting 1st followed by Andrus?

that offense is going to be pretty sick. I'm loving more and more the trade for Fielder.

if he turned down 7 for $140 from the Yankees, then I assume this is more than $140.

The developing Choo to-the-#Rangers story: http://bit.ly/1cIMMuT Deal expected to be worth about $130 mm.

    Choo signs with Rangers

That's a really good deal. A .400 OBP from a corner OF and less then 20 AAV. Boras got hosed

so the deal is less than what he turned down from the Yankees (before Beltran).
maybe he didn't want to play in NY?

Take into consideration the difference in taxes and he is probably making more. The Yankee rumor could also be bogus from Boras.

I was just going to say that. no taxes in Texas.
    TAXES TEXAS

like a lot of big free agent signings, overpaid. but Texas overpaying for Choo is better than no Choo at all.

rangers got great leadoff man/corner fielder. choo's $130M deal worth much more due to no state tax. http://cbsprt.co/19EF6g0

Texas has no state taxes so yes he is making more money with the Rangers than the proposed offer with the Yankees.

I like this move. 7 years might be too long, but that lineup is going to be dangerous next year.

Ellsbury is a better fit for Yankee Stadium. Choo is not really a pull guy like him.
