- Gaborik and Wisniewski return for CBJ tonight.
- CBJ would like to avenge their loss on Thursday in which they gave up 5 goals in the 3rd period.
- Flyers would like to further separate themselves from CBJ after finally getting over the .500 mark on the season.
- Flyers top line has been hot of late, amassing 25 points over the last 10 games.
I was hoping Vinny would at least wait til the 28th to return. An older guy with a back injury shouldn't be coming back early. Wonder what happened to Downie? Who goes on the Couts line, Hartnell or Schenn?
The doctors said Vinny cannot do any further damage to his back by playing its a matter of dealing with the discomfort and if any, some pain. Pretty sure they just said on pregame that Vinny is on the Coots line, not sure which one of them are at center.
Also Nick Grossman out with the flue, that could make the game hard for us to win.
- Downie out with UBI
- Lecavalier back from injury
- Grossmann out with flu
- Gill to replace Grossmann in lineup
line and D combos:
Raffl - Giroux - Voracek
Hartnell - Schenn - Simmonds
Read - Couturier - Lecavalier
Rinaldo - VandeVelde - Hall
Timonen - Coburn
Streit - Gill
Gustafsson - Schenn
Vinny said the one thing he was worrisome about was taking draws, which is why he is playing the wing. So I guess this is their solution to keeping Hartnell in a scoring role while getting Vinny in the lineup. But when Downie comes back....
Actually interested to see what kind of chemistry Couturier and Lecavalier have together.
Streit and Gill together worries me, but I really don't see any great alternatives.
Well as far as tonight goes, gotta sub Gill in over Mez. defensive stay at home defenseman gets hurt, gotta replace him with another one.
And with the return of Vinny and Downie and the resulting line shake up, I dont think theres a way Berube can take Raffl off that line. The kid is getting better and better every night and if those 3 keep respecting each others roles like they are, you could have your top line for the very distant future.
