    2014 Yankee Pitching Scenario

While I love our lineup, this Tanaka story puts our pitching staff in a bind.

Obviously, I realize we are not done at this point but the solutions are not apparent.

The trio of Garza, Santana, Ubaldo doesn't really excite anyone, especially for the reported prices.

Lee and Hamels? Who knows how true this is.

In my opinion, if you are not going for a true # 1 or 2 pitcher, then why bother throwing a long term deal out there?

Secondly, our bullpen is not strong. I think it's important to add one more old vet late inning guy. I like Rodney but just realized he really only had one good year.

    Thoughts?

Well, Cincinnati just signed Wang to a minor league deal, so there are still quality guys out there.

    But we can't go Wang.

I think its Johan and maybe roll with what we have. Hope a young guy can show us something.

    CC
    Kuroda
    Johan
    Nova
    Pineda/phelps/Warren

Im not even against just rolling with Nuno instead of Johan...I know its a risk but we can always make a deal for a pitcher once the season shapes up. I think we can stay in the hunt though. Might be time to give the young guys a chance. Nuno pitched well when he was given the chance.

I'm fine either way, but lets face it......if Fatty sucks again, we have issues.

I remember when the Yanks offered Lee 7 years and I was confident that he would perform well with that contract. Now the guy his heading into his 4th season since then and has arguably been one of the top 3 pitchers in baseball.

Johan really intrigues me. Pitching version of Brian Roberts but was better in his prime

I wouldn't let Lee on this team, if you told me he would throw 10 perfect games, and we didn't have to pay a red cent for him. And if we do I swear ill go to every Yankee game and pee on his wife. F them

I'm willing to take Johan on a minor league deal. See what he has in ST and if he does not pan out it is a small loss financially. I would not be penciling him into the rotation this early.
