MLB investigating Yankees for possibly tampering with Mike Trout

A Major League Baseball spokesman said that they are investigating whether New York Yankees president Randy Levine was guilty of tampering with a comment about Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout.
Normally, you wouldn't think anything of a comment like this, but Randy Levine made these comments to the Orange County Register

After reading further, I read the statements were made to NY reporters, not directly to the OC Register. Still bad though

He can make w/e comments he would like. Odds are heavily in the angels favor that trout will sign his FIRST large contract with the angels for 10 years. After that is anyone's guess.

Some of the reports I read suggest the Angels could/should offer Trout somewhere in the range of 8 years, $220 - $240 million, but with those comments, Trouts' agent may insist on 10 years, $300 mil now. My understanding is that other teams can talk about other players, just not concerning any contract talk that may or may not affect any contract negotiations.

There's pretty much no way Trout gets anything less than a ten year deal, so this seems like a non-issue for the most part.

    Agree'd

Probably more than half the teams would go over 10 years to sign him
