    Team Sweden and Team Russia

United States and Canada are up. These two complete the top four threats at the 2014 games. Any predictions for the rosters? I'll throw a Swedish one up after/

Of course we're going to have some players from the SEL and possibly the KHL. Here's my little list though, with limited overseas knowledge.

Loui Eriksson - Henrik Zetterberg - Johan Franzen
Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Gabriel Landeskog
Alexander Steen - Nicklas Backstrom - Daniel Alfredsson
Marcus Johansson - Patrik Berglund - Patric Hornqvist
    Carl Hagelin/Gustav Nyquist/Mika Ziganjend

    Niklas Kronwall - Jonathan Ericsson
    Erik Karlsson - Niklas Hjalmarsson
    Alex Edler - Oliver Ekman-Larsson
    Tobias Enstrom - Jonas Brodin

    Henrik Lundqvist
    Jonas Gustavsson
    Jhonas Enroth/Robin Lehner

Sweden probably has the second best roster on paper. My prediction is/was a loss in the gold medal game to the United States.

^^^ Enstrom has said he will not play in the Olympics so he can focus on the Jets. Who knows if he follows through with that, but it appears to be that way as of now.

A very solid offense for Sweden. Overall a very balanced team.

alfie is probably going to play with the sedins, would put brodin over ericsson in terms of play so unless they weigh chemistry heavily and would put lehner as backup and gustavsson as the 3rd goalie

I think they stick with some chemistry with Ericsson up there. He will be one of the best shutdown defenders in the tournament.

I think Alfredsson on the third line is better in all honesty. I almost put him up there, but I really like Landeskog there.

Gustavsson has been just as good, if not better than Lehner. (Less games - 2?). More experience too.

What about Mattias Weinhandl?? He is injured at the moment but do you guys think he gets any thought?

For some reason i feel like I remember him playing well with the Sedins.... maybe im losing it.

This team is solid top to bottom.

All jokes aside I think team Russia will have a few overseas players and I have no idea who that could be that could compete with current NHLers for roster spots, so I can't make a serious roster haha. Aside from Varlamov the goaltenders are a crap shoot. Bobs has been terrible and Nabakov is 78 years old. Bryz? Could happen...

This also seems to be the consensus lineup for Team Finland:

    Filppula-Koivu-Ruutu
    Granlund-O.Jokinen-Selanne
    J.Jokinen-Lehterä-Salminen
    Korpikoski-S.Koivu-Komarov
    Kontiola

    Timonen-Lepistö
    Salo-Vatanen
    Määttä-Väänänen
    Ristolainen-Hietanen

    Rask
    Rinne
    Niemi

Who knew Komarov was from Finland....

Datsyuk with Ovechkin would just be sex. Datsyuk can be the puckhandler, really making that line work. Semin and Datsyuk might be the two most talented players in the league. Throwing one of the best finishers in the league just makes it a nasty line.
You need centerman that can play two ways and if they don’t play two ways in the end, you can’t win, because the guy you are counting on can’t get himself on the right side of the puck enough. So sure he can score, he can score but his team loses every night, I didn’t know that was the objective. I thought winning was the objective. So if you centers can’t play down the middle, and can’t play without the puck, you have no chance.
