I had just gotten home after driving in the snow and I opened up NFL.com and I see a big banner telling me that he set the record. I haven't yet see the kick, but can someone let me know if this was a kick that just squeaked over the goal post or whether it would have been good for a few more yards?

Amazing to see that kick. Right before they got set, my whole family all stood up to watch the kick as if it would help. Good to see the record is back in Denver.

Like DB, I just missed it when he actually kicked it. So I went on CBS's gametracker to read some comments and a few people were saying he could have made it 4-5 yards further back and I was like whaaa?!?!?! Then I saw the replay and had to laugh.

    Exciting to see this.

Good for Prater. Time and time again, he's hit the clutch kicks.

No half footed steel tow. No adjustment to the nearest yard market. In sub freezing temperature.

This is all Praters. Glad to have him on the team.

Congrats on the well deserved and long time record.

Quick question. Elam or Prater? Who you got? I loved Elam but I think Prater has a bigger leg.

    Me and my Boys.

Man since Prater first burst onto the scene I've been waiting for this. Then when it finally happens, I'm not able to see it. It's one of the rare times I wasn't able to watch the game in its entirety

Loved Elam..but if Prater keeps up this pace, it's going to be him. In fact, if you compare the two through their first 6 seasons in Denver...Prater is on top already.

    50+ yarder

    Prater- 77% (20-26)

    Elam- 50% (14-28)

    40-49

    Prater- 65% (31-48)

    Elam- 55% (29-53)

    30-39

    Prater- 91% (41-45)

    Elam- 92% (59-64)

His foots gotta be swollen today, kicking a ball at that temp would be like kicking a cinder block. I was telling my friends during the game it was well within his range even in the cold.. glad he didnt make me look like an idiot!

I was at the game when elam kicked the 63 yarder. it was awesome and it was against the jags. should have been at this game when prater kicked the record but missed out because of work. My boss was at the game and was sending me pics. pretty sweet. he's probably in a cast right now lol

I remember a couple years ago we were all giving Prater **** for not being able to make a 40-49 yard FG and it turns out he's got a better percentage than Elam. That makes me feel silly looking back.
