Thought Toews has his worst game of the year. He just looked off. A whole lot of turnovers for him.

Blackhawks dealing for Versteeg has been big...and their hand was sort of forced because these "prospects" are showing that they just aren't ready for the NHL. Pirri put up points between Kane/Saad and on the PP, but he was a defensive liability, forced the play too much, and seemed a step slow. I thought both Morin/Nordstrom played poorly last night (take the goal/assist out of it) with turnovers by Nordstrom being a killer. Both Morin/Pirri just seem a step slow at the NHL level and are too inconsistent. A different beast than AHL. Smith has been the only prospect to come up and play well, and he probably has the least skill out of these guys. Sometimes he is still overmatched but he gives a consistent effort every night and you know what you will get from him.

Pirri has all the potential in the world, He just needs to put it together somehow. I love watching him on the ice. Once he figures out the defensive end, the offense will really flow.

Raanta looked like a fish out of water during the shootout, just awful! Defense played well all night and luckily there weren't too many scrap fights with our few tough guys out. Bollig had at least 6 hits but thats it against a big physical club. Lucky to get a point last night. Bring on the Panthers!

A pretty dominant win last night, but the bigger news is Crawford. It will be interesting to see what the Hawks do if he's out for a while. In the short term Ranta will get the call, which should be ok. Ranta looks like he could be good if he could learn to keep is net. He's obviously young. As for backup, does anyone know Khaby's status or how the kids are doing in Rockford?

^^^ The Blackhawks salary cap is going to get pretty interesting if Crawford is out for a little, but not long enough for LTIR.

I don't think Khabi is ready to come back (nor do the Blackhawks want him back) and the kids in Rockford aren't an option really. Possibly a free agent goalie signing...I just don't know many guys that are out there. Huet? DiPietro? Sadly those are the only 2 off the top of my head...not good. A possible trade?

Really hard to tell. I'm just management is going through all options, but until we all hear on Crawford it will be hard to speculate. Regardless...not good.

Kent Simpson gets called up. Hopefully he doesn't see the ice.

This is Raanta's time to shine, hope he can show he is NHL ready.

Crawford's injury could be a blessing in disguise. Get raanta meaningful nhl experience, then get crawford back healthy and ready to go.

Ill take this now rather than later in the season.

Tickets expensive for that? I think Toronto is supposed to have the highest ticket prices in the NHL. Should be pretty sweet to watch two original 6 teams go at it in a different building.
