Thoughts on the new posting stsyem?

just wondering what you guys thought about it. i think its interesting

    basically:
    20M max bid
If multiple teams make the same high bid, Player can negotiate with all the teams with highest bid

I thought the worst team wins the bid?

No way the big market teams would allow that to be the case.

Really? I think it gives us a better chance. This is only for Japanese players, and a lot of them have spent solid portions of their careers wanting to play here with Ichiro, or for our ownership, and we still have Iwakuma here, so we may still hold some attraction to them, and this lets us put in a competitive offer without having to spend $50M to get to negotiate with them. I think it'll end up being less money for their team, and more money for the player, as it should be. But I think it hurts the super-rich teams the most... they can't just spend a ton for an exclusive right to negotiate anymore.

This puts more decision and power in the player's control, and less in the rich teams' control.
