Red Sox like relievers who walk no one and have splitters

I like it a lot. The late inning options are strong.

I wouldn't call that amazing at all. Breslow and Miller are going to be higher on the depth chart than Workman as well.

I would like to see them acquire some cheap arms now

Only the Royals have a "better" BP then us now. I'd say we are tied with the A's for 2nd

What if Koji is not the same at 39 years old after a ridiculous season where he threw a ton of innings? Think Keith Foulke after 2004. Then our pen is mediocre at best. Calling it amazing is a ridiculous overestimation. Amazing is the Braves bullpen if all their relievers were healthy. This pen is good if things mostly go right.

It's very easy to see flaws in all of our relievers that would lead to bad returns. If things go mostly right they will be good, but things won't go mostly right. I guarantee we get a disappointing season from at least a couple of those names, whether it's injury or under performance. That's why we need to sign cheap arms that are not coming off a good season. You are also forgetting Badenhop

@redsoxstats: Mujica, Koji, Tazawa, and Badenhop ranked #1, #3, #7, and #12 in lowest walk rates of 135 qualified MLB RP in 2013.
@overthemonster: Apparently Mujica had groin issues late last year. Explains September in a way that doesn't really threaten 2014 performance.

I feel like we say we have a good BP entering each season and it doesn't turn out so great, (injuries, pitchers sucking etc.) I'd like to see RDLR in the pen this year. Workman pitched better as a starter.

    Celts, Sox, Pats, Bruins
