5 1/2 hours till the deadline.

Not surprised to see Bard non-tendered. I do think he's back though under some minor league deal. Wouldn't be surprised to see Shark go to arbitration. It could be telling what Shark's camp value him at compared to the FO.

Not a bad signing for a small market team. Let's face it, it really doesn't matter who the backup catcher is at this point.

Doug Fister traded to the Nationals, you can take them off the Shark market

Fister is a great pickup for the Nats. Wonder who they gave up.

Unfortunately, this may put Porcello talks to bed. Sorry Gato. Damn.

Well I wonder how the market will shape up for Samardzija, now that Fister has been traded to the Nationals.

Hopefully a ton, the more they get back the better off we will be trading Shark.

Hearing Fister deal will bring three or four players back to #Tigers. Lombardozzi, Ray likely in that package.

The #Nats have acquired Doug Fister from the #Tigers in exchange for Steve Lombardozzi, Ian Krol & Robbie Ray

    Wow.

    Incredible.

My first reaction without looking at this in an in-depth way is that what a mistake this is for Detroit. The package they got is so piss poor. Essentially, Fister will be the same price as Samardzija through arbitration and does not reach free agency until 2016.

Extend Samardzija if this is the asking price for a similar pitcher. Can't believe this for Detroit. It's so bad.
