    Another example of Mike G failing

    Gillis should have traded Edler for a forward while he had a chance. Now we're stuck with Edler. He has the 2nd worst +/- in the NHL. I know it's not a great stat, but being 2nd worst in any category isn't good. He fails the statistics test and the eye test.

    Should have traded Edler.

    It's been apparent for over a year now that we need to move a blue liner. There is too much money tied up back there and it has created a log jam having 5 #2/3 dmen. Don't be dillusional though. Edler still holds a ton of value. He is a good player who looks lost in this system trying to find a new identity.

    Honestly, Edler doesn't have the chutzpah to be an NHL D-man. He's not a leader. He practically pees his pants every time a big forechecker comes in on him with speed. Edler needs to play like he's pissed off with the world to become 'that guy'. Until then, this mollycoddling is not helping...I'd rather have Stanton in the top four.
