    Mets sign OF Chris Young

    Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 14m
The #Mets, after reaching agreement with OF Chris Young, remain in the mix for another right-handed hitting outfielder, Nelson Cruz.

Free-agent OFer Chris Young to #Mets, per source. One-year deal, pending physical. @JonHeymanCBS had first.

Chris Young agrees to mets deal pending physical. OF has some pop, good defender

So we now have a starting OFer who hit .200 last year. Lifetime .235 hitter. Sounds like Duda with a glove.

    Baxter/Cowbell 2014

I wonder how the rest of the NL east will counter this move.

But the point is that we are not getting him for his average. It's his defense and pop.

Well WrightStuff got his wish. I am not a fan at all. This guy is a CF and we already have one. I'd rather have Byrd.

This better mean we're getting Colby Rasmus next year.

No comparison between young and Baxter/Cowbell.....Young is way more proven then those two. I don't think he is a savior but if he can have some seasons like he did in Arizona he easily is more productive then most of the outfielders we had in the past few years. Has put up some big powers numbers/Base stealing numbers in the past, hopefully he returns to form we will see.

Yawn. Not impressed this guy will not hit his weigh. Might as well bring Bay back.

    Steamer projection: .228/.315/.408.

Bay can't even hit out of the infield. Young already beats him in that.

Not true really. Young pops up a ton and strikes out a lot too.
