should player/coaches awards be voted on by fellow peers and not BBWA writers?

I would think It could give more meaning to the award while also ending the "old school vs new school" **** that goes on with many of the writers (and the "you need to be on a contender to win). (which we kind of fixed when felix won) (but its still an issue (see players like trout)

    what do you think?

So you don't think any baseball players still live the "old" way to analyze statistics?4

Cabrera was named the most outstanding AL player this season by his peers. I think the players would be more old school than the writers.

    Masahiro Tanaka

The players are more archaic than the writers.

Either way, the awards are presented and offered by the writers. It's their award to give.
