    Win Probability

Russell Wilson is now 2-0 when having a less than 5% chance to win in the second quarter.
    Andrew Luck is 1-0.
The rest of the NFL is 0-19, that list including

    Rivers
    Big Ben
    Eli
    and Jay Cutler.

Yep, QBs do everything by themselves.

Swear to God everyone is brain dead.

Get so tired of hearing "qb a has a so and so record", " qb c outplayed qb b", etc.

    It's so stupid.

First, I'm willing to bet no one has the brain power to actually understand win probability. It's too bad because it's a nice stat when used in the context of the team- which is the problem with the original poster. Russell Wilson isn't 2-0 when having less than a 5% chance to win, the Seahawks are 2-0. Big difference. Win probability doesn't separate out individual accomplishments....

Now if you wanted to say something like Seattle has a good ability to make comebacks, I suppose thats fair. Although, when one of those comebacks is against Tampa, that raises more questions about Seattle than whatever praise they deserve for making the comeback. Still do think Seattle is very much a Super Bowl contender though.

Wilson put the team on his back, he was pressured on almost 60% of his dropbacks and still turned the game around.

I suppose wilson is also the reason TB was held to a FG in the second half too.

Here's a thought. Lets pollute the NFL forum with as many Wilson threads as we possibly can. When they get tired of it, we will simply continue to make them at the same rate, only without Wilson in the title. No one will ever know. Genius.

Yep. The other half of the "turned the game around" that is just glossed over.

For all these 4QC and GWD stats.....i'd love to see how many points each team/QB had to score on average for the win. It's a hell of a lot easier to have a 4QC win when you only have to score like 17 points for the win (prime example, Eli in the SB IIRC) than it is if your defense gives up like 30 points.

If QB has better stats and is the main reason a team won a game then yes he outplayed the other. If your QB goes 17 of 35 4 ints then then your chances are he cost his team a game.

Wrong. He didn't outplay the other QB. He didn't play the other QB at all.

It can VERY well mean the defense the QB played against played worse.

Why when a QB has better stats it's always "the QB outplayed the other QB", and not "the defense played worse than the other defense". It's automatically about the QB.

Which again, is just stupid. The QB is not the only person on the field.

Example. Manning and the Seahawks play. Wilson and Manning both have almost exactly the same stats. That would likely mean Manning had the better game putting up the same numbers against a far better defense.

While true let's not downplay the importance of a QB. How about this example.

The Green Bay Packers, even with all their other injuries, were considered a lock for the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers goes down for 4-6 weeks and now nobody thinks they can make it.

Apparently 1 player was the difference between a good/great team and a not good team.

I agree in principle what you're saying but saying we can't attribute team accomplishments to QBs is equally as stupid. Yes, Joe Montana didn't win 4 SBs, the 49ers did. But if Joe Montana wasn't the QB they very likely don't win 4 SBs. Can you say that about any 1 other singular player on those teams?
