Orlando beat the Clippers up pretty good tonight. I'm not too worried about 1 game at this point of the season. The Clippers may have overlooked the Magic but I'm not sure if that's what it was. They just came out really flat and fell so far behind in the 1st half. They didn't hold on to a late 4th quarter lead but they could have done a lot more to win the game in the 1st half. I have no idea why the team took so many 3's and did nothing on offense so many possessions. It looked a lot like Vinny was still coaching.
The defense had another poor game. The couldn't stop Vucevic. He was by far the best big man on the floor tonight. Not to say DJ or Blake had a bad game but they both got dominated down low. The team did a decent job of shutting down Nelson and Afflalo. Oladipo gave them a lift but the problems were down low. It was disappointing that Blake and DJ couldn't dominate Maxiell or even Nicholson. There was a late possession where Blake was not able to back down and get a shot off against Nicholson. Blake and DJ need to be dominant on nights like tonight. The team can't score 137 shooting jumpers every game.
Blake honestly had a good game and was all over the place on D. He was decisive most of the game. The Clippers just needed more from him tonight. The flaws in his game were the biggest factor in the loss. His jumper was money and he hit a clutch shot or 2. When the team needed a hoop down low from it's star he wasn't able to deliver. He also fumbled the game away on a perfect pass from CP3. I would have liked to see him attack the rim a lot more as well. He should have been able to get to rim on Maxiell all night. I'm not bagging on the guy we saw flashes of greatness with the jumper today. We also saw what can happen to the Clippers if Blake isn't able to get big baskets late.
There are plenty of reasons to not worry too much about this game. DJ is playing HUGE minutes and doing a little better from the line. Him being able to stay on the floor is an improvement all by itself. Despite how poorly the team played tonight JJ Reddick could have hit 2 or 3 shots to put the Magic away. A lot of people may say the Clippers were exposed tonight but honestly the Magic look pretty good. They were certainly the better team tonight. The Clippers have looked sluggish the 3 games that weren't against top teams.

Back to back tough losses. It's still early enough not to worry and focus on the positives. The team is not off to a hot start to say the least. I really like the TNT announcers and studio crew. I don't like watching Clipper games on TNT. They really rip the Clippers. They were really on Blake tonight. Tonight I agree with them. It is frustrating that Blake isn't more aggressive. Especially on a night where he displayed his wide array of tools. Blake should never pass to Mullens or Green without looking at the hoop.
The Clippers played LeBron really tough for the most part. James Dudley did really well. He looks funny guarding James. Talk about 2 guys on the complete opposite end of the NBA athletic spectrum! They would have almost shut James out if they hadn't tried to guard him with Willie Green. I won't give Doc credit for recognizing the mismatch and going with Blake on Lebron. I know Barnes is out and Crawford can't guard anyone but I think it's fair to say you have to find a way to not guard James with Willie Green. LeBron got hot and sparked his team with Green on him, it may have been a different outcome without that match up. Blake deserves a lot of credit for his defense tonight.
CP3 had an off night. He really didn't look like himself. He took a long 3 in the 4th quarter which is easily the worst shot I can remember him taking. Everyone gets a bad game once in a while in my book. Something really got under CP3's skin for some reason. It could have been Chalmers, he was really chippy tonight. I'll bet everyone was saying Blake flopped when Chalmlers bowed him in the throat. Jamal Crawford had an amazing crossover knocking down James and then the shot in the first half. Someone should make a gif out of that! Did anyone notice Spo's hair? That was a bad look. His product lost the battle badly!
I think it would be easy to forget about the great 1st half the team had. CP3 and Reddick had really bad games and the team still only lost by 5 on the road. I'm not into moral victories. On paper this isn't a bad loss. The reality is the Heat had an off night and still beat the Clippers. LeBron James had about as little impact on a game as he can. If the Clippers want to be a team that can beat the Heat in a 7 game series they clearly have a long way to go.
I'm a new Clippers fan guys so wanted to say hi and check in. Have to follow my boy JJ. He has been doing well for the clippers. Didn't get much into the action in the second half last night, but who did besides Crawford and Blake. This team has some molding still to do but they will be ok in the end.
Welcome! Yea JJ had a really bad last night. I hope he's a better defender than he's looked so far. I heard he was solid and good at taking charges but I haven't seen it yet. He seems like he's fast and athletic enough to play D so I hope he turns it around.
That was a really nice win. It would be pretty easy to nitpick but I thought it was a nice win. The Wolves look like a solid team and played a good game tonight. I'll take the win! I liked the way Blake looked tonight. He had a bunch of shots dribble off the rim and probably should have gotten a couple more calls. Overall it was a nice win that will look much better if they team can get a win over OKC!
nice to see this team getting along. we need them to win down the road more though they might not win this game against the thunder but it is important because its a home game and you always wanna show out for your home crowd. Never mind win every game!
Blake shooting better and CP3 leading better great.
Blake seems to have the range out to 20 feet. As long as he's knocking them down it doesn't bother me but it's definitely not my favorite shot from him. It would be nice to see a Win tonight. This game will tell us a lot about the Bledsoe trade. Bledsoe did well on Westbrook and If Dudley can't check Durant he doesn't add much.
I'm very disappointed by the poor judgement Matt Barnes used last night. I don't care about what he did during the game. In fact I applaud it. I always have. I won't comment on his use of the N word. What I will comment on is that he really seemed to use it in a negative way against his teammates. I know he has since apologized. I hope he is sincere. He has a bad reputation around the league. I have always had his back even when he wasn't a Clipper. I don't have his back on this. I do think his teammates have already forgiven him if they even felt slighted by his tweet. I hope this is an isolated incident because Barnes looks like a bad guy right now.
I find it very funny the way a lot posters in he NBA forum are making this out to be. People saying Blake needs to stand up for himself or should have been ejected. Blake hardly did anything wrong and didn't back down at all. The whole play wasn't that big of a deal. The players involved in the altercation is what was important. Ibaka obviously got away with a huge cheap shot to Blake's junk last season. I think the ejections were to send a message to both teams that this kind of play has to stop. What would Ibaka have done to Blake next? I really don't have much of a problem with anything that happened. Except for Barnes tweet.

Wow, my favorite player down for awhile. Cousins didn't pick him up and slam him, but when you are big as he is a shove while in air was all it took to put JJ out for awhile. Hears to a quick recovery.
