I'm watching first take an Stephen A said that he was talking to people in the arena last night and he gets the feeling that if the Bulls cannot pair Rose up with a legitimate other star then he will leave. Personally, that's really really hard for me to envision because he throws Chicago on everything and he seems like he is hellbent on bringing a title to Chicago no matter what.
I don't think it's impossible that's for sure. Although I think the best bet is he stays. It would have take an unbelievable situation somewhere else to leave. Although if Thibs and Garpax can't iron things out and Thibs is fired\not brought back and we replace him with slop, then I think it's probably 50\50
i'm sure he would,any/every star would at least consider it.but 1.we have a lot of talent that could be considered "star"(either now-like deng, noah or future-jimmy,mirotic) and 2.he's locked up through '17 ,thats plenty of time to get more
...so this is a non story ,just screaming a. looking to stir up controversy and interest as all nba reporting has descended into trade rumor bs 24/7,leaving it vague enough to go two ways with the story.1.rose is on his way o the c's,lakers, knicks, ect. or 2.which star is chicago bound?(nothing else gets readership except stars switching teams)

Stephen A and Skip are trolls. Stephen A is so desperate to "break stories" by being this credible insider. He hits once in awhile because he does have sources, sometimes direct, but him trying to interrupt something is usually way off.
Derrick Rose......."I don't recruit. I never have and I never will." If anything he should be blaming himself for not getting another "star" here. The Bulls are financially crippled, so if they want to add another "star", they will have to sacrifice their home grown core and trade people.
It is definitely possible. It is also starting to look more and more like the Cave with LBJ. Just because we are year in and year out contenders, these FO are content with that and only think that role players are needed.
This could very well end up like LBJ and the Cavs.
Mirotic coming in by that time barely entering his prime + w/e we get from the Bobcat pick.
That and I think we will have a whole new team within a year or two. Everyone will be gone except JB, Rose and Noah maybe. Not worried about Rose leaving at all. Only time I could see him leaving would be after another 5 year contract and we are in the same situation. At the tail end of his contract in 2016 I think we will attract more FA signings.
That and even if we do keep the pick and keep Mirotic. Worse case Mirotic is Taj production wise. Defense will be a struggle more than likely but that stretch 4 with Rose will be huge. I could honestly see him come in and average around 12ppg as a rookie, GarPax drafting a Bobcats pick in the 1-8 range based on our draft history I feel pretty confident.Plus those are all cheap contracts we can then throw at a big time FA in the future.
What guarantees are you looking for? This team is a 60 win team as is right now, that can't be tossed away.
It is funny to think how many of us have so little faith in Forman to get creative with all of these assets to go and just simply make a deal.
So your content with just being a 60 win team? Yes it can be tossed away. You don't get remembered if you win 60+ games every year and never even make a finals.
No one said they didn't have faith in gar forman. But we are a team that is hesitant as hell to pull the trigger on a trade. So you have to look at it from that standpoint. Every year we have great assets but nothing comes of them.
I can't see Rose abandoning Noah or Jimmy. Plus he'd have to burn a lot of bridges to leave Chicago. Does he really want to be viewed as the guy who left his hometown to go ring hunting? I can't see Rose doing that, especially after Lebron made a fool of himself by doing so.
Furthermore, everything he's said seems to support the idea that he isn't into "taking the easy way out." If anything he makes his job harder on himself than it has to be.
Could Rose leave Chicago? Yes. Can I imagine it? Not really. But I could see him getting as spurned, or even moreso, for doing so than Lebron did. Traditional NBA fans would be pretty upset, cuz Rose represents a dying breed of loyal, prideful bballers.
I mean, how many players out there are really worth leaving our team for? It would have to be more than one player, Rose would basically have to do an exact repeat of what Lebron did (pairing up a 2 other stars). I can't see that happening.
EDIT: The one guy I COULD see Rose teaming up with (or leaving Chicago for) is Durant. But even from Durant's perspective, swapping Westbrook for Rose probably wouldn't be worth it, probably wouldn't be the big difference that would get him a ring.
Only way Rose leaves Chicago is if Durant is involved. And even moreso there would probably have to be a third star involved (cuz Durant wouldn't leave Westy for just Rose and some scrubs). Hell I see Durant coming to Chicago before Rose leaves Chicago aka Lebron-style. Cuz Rose would really need a great situation to leave Chicago for.
