    How Good is Jordy Nelson?

Off the top of my head these are better receivers than him

    A. Johnson
    C. Johnson
    Green
    Fitzgerald

Guys who are about on par

    Welker
    Cruz
    Thomas
    Bryant
    Jones
    Jennings

I'd put Nelson above everybody on that second list to be honest. He's my #5 receiver in the league.

Congrats, he is not anywhere near my 5th best in the league (or probably anyone else's outside of Wisconsin).

I notice you left Marshall off, very conspicous considering he's easily better than Nelson and plays for a division rival.

Forgot Marshall. I bet you there are more people who have him 5-8 than you think.

How is Jennings on that second list?
    THE GOAT

Until a player reaches these PA numbers, lets not talk about how good they are.

The Following PA's are when sample size stabilizes

    50 PA: Swing %
    100 PA: Contact Rate
150 PA: Strikeout Rate, Line Drive Rate, Pitches/PA
200 PA: Walk Rate, Groundball Rate, GB/FB
    250 PA: Flyball Rate
300 PA: Home Run Rate, HR/FB
500 PA: OBP, SLG, OPS, 1B Rate, Popup Rate
    550 PA: ISO

    First Tier:
    Calvin Johnson
    AJ Green
    Julio Jones
    Brandon Marshall
    Andre Johnson
    Larry Fitzgerald
    Dez Bryant
    Demaryius Thomas
    Michael Crabtree

He is probably on par with guys like:
    Victor Cruz
    Roddy White
    Justin Blackmon
    Josh Gordon
    Wes Welker
    Hakeem Nicks
    Steve Smith
    Vincent Jackson
    Anquan Boldin

Michael Crabtree is nowhere near that tier of receivers

Jarrett Boykin has put up good numbers as the #2 WR with Rodgers the past two games. Honestly, it's hard for me to be impressed by Nelson when it seems like you could give just about anybody 10 targets a game from Aaron Rodgers and they'd be a pro bowler.

Ok. Good post. The thing is Nelson takes it to another level than the other Rodgers' receivers. Nelson and Rodgers are the most efficient and effective QB and WR duo in the league the past 5 years. Rodgers YPA and QB rating is incredible while targeting Nelson.

    This isn't all Rodgers.

He's faster. More elusive. Although not by much, Nelson rarely gets run down and is an excellent deep receiver.

Nelson is stronger. Better hands. Better route runner. Better second reaction awareness. Less of a headache. Better leader.

There isn't much better that Dez does.

I think Jordy Nelson is one of the best in the league.
    1. Calvin Johnson
    2. A.J Green
    3. Julio Jones
    4. Dez Bryant
    5. Brandon Marshall
    6. Wes Welker
    7. Larry Fitzgerald
    8. Demarius Thomas
    9. Jordy Nelson
    10. Andre Johnson

It seems like Welker and Nelson are always extremely underrated. Must be their style of play even though it's not similar between the two.

Haha, yesterday I was actually thinking of making a thread on how Jordy Nelson's greatness is unappreciated. Top 10 for sure....can do it all as a WR.

He's as good as Aaron Rodgers lets him be.

Crabtree doesn't deserve to be in either tier, not even close. Even Boldin is questionable for being in the 2nd tier. Based on your location and user name though I can see that you might be a little biased toward those guys.

In my mind, Nelson would be in between your 1st and 2nd tier. He's not on the level of those 1st tier guys but better than those 2nd tier guys with the exception of maybe Cruzy, White, and Welker. I would put Jordy probably top 10-12 in the NFL.
