Lakers waive Marcus Landry; roster now stands at 15 players
After their last game of the pre-season, the Los Angeles Lakers waived forward Marcus Landry.
The team’s roster now stands at 15 players, which is the NBA’s maximum number for opening night.
It looks like Elias Harris, Ryan Kelly, Shawne Williams and Xavier Henry will make the cut, however, their contracts won’t become fully guaranteed until Janauary. It seems that they’re safe for now, though.
Landry – who performed well for the Lakers during the Summer League in Las Vegas and was brought in as a training camp invite primarily for his shooting – struggled with his shot from three-point land throughout the pre-season and didn’t see a second of action over the team’s last two games.
The Lakers’ regular season starts on Tuesday night when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at home.
