...Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that there is "no chance" the Indians offer impending free agent Ubaldo Jimenez a multi-year contract.
The Indians will pick up their portion of Jimenez's $8 million option for 2014, but Jimenez will decline his side, making him a free agent. Cleveland would love the right-hander back, but they feel he'll be too expensive on a multi-year pact. Hoynes notes that it is up in the air as to whether the club will offer Jimenez a $14 million qualifying offer. The right-hander would have no trouble netting a multi-year deal no strings attached, but it's possible teams could be hesitant to sign him if it means losing their first-round pick.
