Remember those Kid Cudi pun days of Daye n' Knight? Yeah...those two picks may be the draft equivalent of the Gordon & Villanueva signings.
But the question is who was the biggest draft bust for us between the two? The case can be made for both. Austin Daye being the next Durant, but only to turn out to be a skinny 6'11 SG. And then there's Knight, the flashy successor of John Wall from the powerhouse of Kentucky, nothing more than a better shooting version of Rodney Stuckey.
IMO, I think Knight is the bigger bust. Looking back on both drafts, we knew Daye was drafted for his potential and what he could become, while I believe from day 1 we expected more from Knight and he never really got it. He was wildly inconsistent & turnover prone. Up to this point, I think its easy to say the only thing that has carried on from Knight days at UK is his 3pt shooting(overall FG% still inconsistent), other than that he struggles in every other category(some consider him solid on defense).
I know Knight still has time to turn it around in Milwaukee, so I guess its a little too early to label him a total bust...but I'm asking this question based off Knight & Daye's time as a Piston.
