Well the Bruins were able to weather the storm by the Sharks that period. Rask was absolutely phenomenal that period and he had to be. One thing I like that period was how the Bruins played very tight down low and really made the Sharks fight for possession and getting to loose pucks in front of Rask.
Now that the period is over, hopefully the Bruins can increase their skating game but they will really have to turn up the intensity to match the Sharks. That team is so full of speed and talent it will be a difficult but not impossible task. One thing the Bruins need to do is tighten up the neutral zone a bit in hopes that this could slow down the Sharks a bit, especially going from the neutral to attacking zones.
The Bruins also need to do a better job at making plays as well as creating them. The Bruins didn't do a great job at making their plays that period and it nearly cost them at times. Especially when that puck hit the end boards, came out near Rask and Boychuk missed it. You have to gain control before you try to make the play, thankfully the Sharks player made the same mistake.
I was scared for a second b/c when the play was originally in the B's defensive end I thought we would lose. I did not like how the B's just let the Sharks have the zone and I wasn't happy with some of the initial attempts to clear the puck but WOW.
That was an amazing game and not just because we won. The Sharks look really strong this year and could be the team to beat in the West. I really hope they show the Tuuk's double pad stack save in the post game.
