Congratulations to Pallet town on making the playoffs. Sadly, there playoff run is more of a leisurely jog because they simply cannot match up against Azkaban. Azkaban has a perfectly built offense surrounding 3-time NBA champion and a Finals MVP in Dwyane Wade with a bruising, efficient legitimate second option and low-post/high-post scorer in David West. Then, we have an abundant amount of shooters between Jarret Jack, Toney Douglas, Jason Terry, and Steve Novak who collectively shot 436/1,101 which equals 39.6% on 14 3-pt attempts per game (that would lead the league). To couple that, we have fantastic secondary ball-handlers to make Wade's life easier with Jarret Jack & Andrei Kirilenko. We have a great scoring option off the bench in Jason Terry. Simply put we have one of the best benches in this game. Throw in some great rebounding between Jack/Wade/AK47/West/Splitter in the starting lineup (not even mentioning REGGIE EVANS ability to dominate the board) and this offense is simply perfectly built for a long playoff run.
Moving onto our defense: we have a damn solid defense between both our starters and bench. Dirk Nowitzki, a HOF, will certainly get his simply because well, he's a HOF. However, we will make him work for it with AK47/West/Splitter all being able to take turns on him. The real reason why our defense will be greatly effective versus Pallet Town is who in the world is their 2ndary option on offense? Outside of Dirk, they have an under-performing and below-average starting guard in Lin... a 3 point specialist in Danny Green... An average starting small forward in Wilson Chandler... and Mr. Brick-Hands himself Omer Asik. Brandon Jennings off the bench? That's okay... but who cares? Is he really a legit 2nd option on a contending team? I certainly think not.
I can kill everyone with statistical production, head-to-head matchups, but it really is unnecessary because Azkaban has no question marks in their starting lineup and they have great depth and an all-around cast. In comparison, outside of Dirk Nowitzki Pallet Town will struggle to score (*relying on Lin/Jennings won't equate to success). And outside of Asik, who has only played one season at 30mpg, where is there defense coming from? Michael Beasley or Festus Ezeli off the bench? That's just not how you win a championship.
For all of these reasons, I firmly believe that Azkaban will win this series in 5 games.
