    It's going to be really tough to close these guys out. Should make for a fun finish to the series.

    2 shots at home to close it out. If they don't pull it off, then they don't deserve it.
    Perfection.

    Nava has an injury no doubt... Wouldn't shock me that the Sox are not disclosing it.. (could also explain the lack of PH)

    Nava said he was completely healthy a couple days ago. He also has the same amount of hits and 1 more walk in this series than Gomes, in 5 less at bats. I think it's Farrell just being Farrell. If he's too injured to play why did he play 2 games ago, and why is he still on the roster?

    thats the issue. If its a minor injury, there is no way in hell you take him off the roster becuase he then is out for the WS also..... And I have rarely heard a player say they were injured... Almost all players try and hide it..... But really, it would not shock me if he has some sort of nagging injury (could also explain lack of PH appearences)

    Well if he's injured he has still played better than Gomes while injured.

    Nava is not injured. It's just Farrell going with his gut and so far it hasn't payed off.

    If this isn't a jinx...

    @TimBritton 6m
    Over the final 4.5 months of the season, the Red Sox lost consecutive home games once -- to Baltimore in September.

    Not so much. I seriously doubt Nava could have pulled in that catch at the fence last night. If that falls, the whole game is different, and there is an excellent chance we lose.

    Also the Sox are 3-0 when Gomes starts in this Series.

    In the 72 games the Sox won in the regular season with Gomes playing he was: .307/.434/.563

    In 105 PA's Gomes RISP is: .346/.448/.543; His 2 out RISP is: .306/.444/.500

    Nava can't match those numbers.

    In 52 games from June 6th thru Sep 1st inclusive Nava batted: .289/.367/.380 - that's 189 PA's with 1 HR. If you include Nava's September, his SLG is still just .419 since June 6th.

    6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

    Some jerks never learn.....
