    UPDATE: Jonathan Ericsson Injury Report

Reported to have a concussion and many cuts. Thought a thread would be a good idea to have updates on our #1 defenseman. We're totally doomed right now.

News at least sounds good that he didnt have to leave the arena was talking to the Dr etc. Best case scenario he misses a week worst case is oh boy...

McLeod is having an in person hearing which probably means at least 5 games. Good.

As I said in the other forum depending on what management wants I see either AA or Marchenko called up in his spot.

I fear what this D group will do without him.....then again, they held up after he left last night, but there's the rally effect too.

Hopefully Kronwall isn't out long. He is traveling with the team to Phoenix which is a good sign. I would much rather the Wings sit Kronwall for a few games and possibly lose those games than to play him and chance him being out for a long period of time.

That's fine with me. Anytime you are dealing with concussions or even concussion like symptoms you needs to take extra precautions.

    Smith needs to step up.
You need centerman that can play two ways and if they donít play two ways in the end, you canít win, because the guy you are counting on canít get himself on the right side of the puck enough. So sure he can score, he can score but his team loses every night, I didnít know that was the objective. I thought winning was the objective. So if you centers canít play down the middle, and canít play without the puck, you have no chance.

Per khan, "Kronwall said he's waiting for results if the concussion tests he had this morning but he expects to be cleared for tomorrow. Babcock said he'll use the same lineup tomorrow with the exception of Kronwall being inserted assuming he is cleared."

Pretty incredible for him to be back within a week after taking such a hard hit face-first into the boards. Who knows, maybe we will avoid the injury spree this year. #Knockonwood
