    ESPN Ranks Kobe as the 25th Best Player in the NBA

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/98...rankings-21-25

    I understand the injury aspect of it, but still seems quite low

    Yeah, he's going to come back and rip it up. No doubt about that

    That's truly insulting. Was Henry Abbott involved?

    I'd rank him about 10. EDIT: And that's taking into account his injury, which I assume will slow him down somewhat, given his mileage and age.

    It's beyond insulting.. ESPN is going to have Dwight Howard ranked higher than Kobe. Dwight's excuse all season for him not playing up to par was injury, and yet they have Kobe this low because of the same reason?

    ESPN = TROLL

    Kobe's being devalued both because of his injury and the fact that D12 walked and the Lakers are no longer considered a playoff team, let alone a title team.

    I hadn't even looked at their rankings until today, and it's a bit telling that Kobe is now 1 spot better than Dirk. Really? Or how about the fact that they have Rondo ranked at 27. Really -- you're telling me there are 26 other players that teams would take ahead of Rondo if he was available. Bwahahahahaha!

    Also: shout out to Pau at 29. You can argue about who's the most dominant player in the post, but if Pau signed with a team like the Heat they could print championships as long as LeBron was around.

    I've got my issues with Kobe, but Abbott is a stone-cold hater. He hides behind numbers but his only real goal in life is trolling players he dislikes. He's like Bill Simmons without the manic and mostly failed attempts at cultural humor.

    Derrick Rose was ranked 5 last year, and Bynum was 13th... neither played a game.

    This is according to Dave McMenamin's twitter.

    Silly ESPN

    It's unbelievable the amount of criticism, hate, and insult Kobe AND the Lakers take by ESPN. 25? It must be a joke. We all know he'll come out using it as fuel and motivation to prove these idiots wrong.

    Last season, there were only two players I saw that were better than Kobe. Lebron and Durant. I got Kobe at 3.

    someone said they did the ratings differently this year. In years past, the ratings were based on what the player did the previous season. Now, the ratings are based on future production. Is that correct?

    If that is the case, that would explain was Rose was ranked high last year.
