Detroit Red Wings (3-2-0) 6 points at Boston Bruins (3-1-0) 6 points 10/14/13
The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings will match up for the second time on the young season with both games of the season series played in Boston thus far. For the Bruins, they are coming off their first road game of the season, a 3-1 win in Columbus on Saturday and are looking for their second consecutive win. The Detroit Red Wings are coming off a 5-2 home win versus the Flyers on Saturday. The Boston Bruins won the first meeting between these two games, on October 5th by a score of 4-1. This will be the final trip to TD Bank North Garden this season.
Bruins keys to the game:
1) Keep moving at all times
The Red Wings are fast and the Bruins need to match that speed. Don't get caught not moving your feet or otherwise you will find yourself in odd man situations.
2) Eyes Open and Awareness
Keep your eyes open and heads up...know what's going on around you and be aware of the situation around you. Know where teammates are on the ice and where they will be going.
3) Special Teams
Shockingly, the Bruins have struggled on the penalty kill this year and they need to bolster up their defense a bit. They need to get tighter and force the opposition to the blue line and to the boards.
PP...the PP hasn't gelled but the one bright spot this season was against the Red Wings. Take advantage of the PP's and move the puck and work to create openings.
